Description: Anita, a government officer, sets out on a mission to locate Chandramouli, an archaeologist who disappeared while searching for traces of the prince of the Chola dynasty in Vietnam. The story begins in 1279 A.D., as the Chola dynasty faces its demise due to attacks by the Pandyas, who drive the Cholas out of their southern Indian kingdom. To protect his heir, the Chola emperor sends his son and his people to a hidden territory, taking with them a sacred Pandya idol. This act enrages the Pandyas, who launch an invasion into unexplored lands in pursuit of the Cholas and the stolen idol but fail to find them.
Centuries later, in 2008, Indian archaeologists, following ancient Pandyan clues, continue to search for the lost Chola tribe. Chandramouli is the latest archaeologist to vanish during this quest. The Indian government assembles a search expedition led by Anita, a harsh and arrogant officer, with assistance from the Indian army under Ravisekharan. They recruit Lavanya, Chandramouli’s estranged daughter and a reserved archaeologist, whose expertise is crucial to the mission. Lavanya provides vital documents prepared by her father, detailing the route to the Chola dynasty’s hidden location.
Alongside the army, Anita hires a group of porters led by Sugumaran, whom she and the soldiers mistreat and view as inferior. The team embarks on their journey, eventually reaching the island of Min-gua near Vietnam, a region bordering Thailand and Malaysia. The story unfolds as the expedition faces challenges in their quest to uncover the secrets of the lost Chola dynasty and find the missing archaeologist.
