Description: The story begins with Ramarama, the leader of the Abhiras, killing a group of musicians and actors for allegedly stealing a missing treasure in Amaravati, Karnataka. On his deathbed, Ramarama names his second son, Tukaram, as his successor. This decision angers Jayaram, the eldest son, who quickly seizes the throne from his brother. Jayaram declares that he will only claim the throne once the treasure is recovered, sparking a widespread search.
Fifteen years later, the treasure remains undiscovered. Lakshmi, a local journalist, covers the story of Harishchandra, a treasure hunter. She witnesses his kidnapping and reports it to Narayana, the local police officer. Narayana confidently believes he has captured Harishchandra’s kidnappers, but they turn out to be his bodyguards, sent by Tukaram. Tukaram confronts Narayana for arresting his men and allowing Harishchandra to be kidnapped, likely by Jayaram. He gives Narayana an ultimatum to retrieve the treasure hunter at his own risk.
Later, Narayana discovers Harishchandra hidden in the reporter’s van. He fabricates a story about rescuing the treasure hunter from Jayaram’s heavily guarded fort. However, it is revealed that Narayana orchestrated the kidnapping and is secretly involved in the treasure hunt.
Jayaram, furious over the newspaper coverage of Narayana’s supposed break-in, captures him. Narayana cleverly escapes and learns that the tribe of the slain drama artists is still waiting in Amaravati for their final performance. They believe their savior, referred to as ‘Hari,’ will come and redeem them according to a prophecy.
One night, Narayana and his aide Achyutanna witness members of this tribe taking Harishchandra away, believing he is the prophesied savior.
