Description: Austin Powers in Goldmember, released in 2002, follows the eccentric spy Austin Powers as he faces off against his nemesis, Dr. Evil. The story begins with Dr. Evil revealing his plan to travel back to 1975 and join forces with a gold-obsessed Dutchman named Johann van der Smut, also known as “Goldmember.” After a tragic smelting accident, Goldmember loses his genitalia and develops a powerful tractor beam called “Preparation H,” which Dr. Evil intends to use to pull a meteor toward Earth. Austin Powers and the Ministry of Defence thwart Dr. Evil’s plans, leading to his arrest. However, during a celebratory knighting ceremony by Queen Elizabeth II, Austin is disheartened by the absence of his father, Nigel Powers.
Later, Austin learns that Nigel has been kidnapped, and the only clue is that the crew of his yacht had their genitalia painted gold. Seeking answers, Austin turns to Dr. Evil, who taunts him about their past and reveals that Goldmember is behind the abduction. Austin travels back to 1975 and infiltrates Goldmember’s roller disco club, where he reunites with his former lover, FBI agent Foxxy Cleopatra. Despite locating his father, Austin fails to rescue him, and Goldmember takes Nigel to 2002 using Dr. Evil’s time machine.
Meanwhile, Dr. Evil and Mini-Me escape prison and relocate to a new lair near Tokyo. Austin and Foxxy follow, confronting Fat Bastard, now a sumo wrestler, as they continue their mission to save Nigel and stop Dr. Evil’s latest scheme.
