**Storyline:**
Mt. Paektu, an active volcano located on the border between China and North Korea, erupts unexpectedly, triggering massive earthquakes across both North and South Korea. The Korean peninsula is thrown into chaos as experts predict further eruptions. In an effort to prevent another catastrophe, Jeon Yoo-kyung devises a plan based on a theory by Professor Kang Bong-rae, who has extensively studied Mt. Paektu and its potential for future eruptions.
Jo In-chang, the leader of a special forces team, is tasked with carrying out the operation. He reaches out to Lee Joon-pyeong, a North Korean spy serving in the Korean People’s Army, for assistance. Meanwhile, Jo In-chang’s pregnant wife, Choi Ji-young, struggles to survive alone in Seoul amidst the ongoing disaster.
Jo In-chang and his team embark on their mission, but their plane malfunctions, forcing them to parachute to safety. They locate Joon-pyeong, who is imprisoned in North Korea, and enlist his help to identify the mine closest to Mt. Paektu’s caldera. After obtaining critical information, the team retrieves a piece of uranium from a nuclear missile. This action alerts American forces stationed in South Korea, who attempt to intercept Joon-pyeong from delivering the uranium to Chinese gangsters.
In-chang and Joon-pyeong manage to evade the Americans and arrive in Bocheon, a town near Mt. Paektu, where Joon-pyeong reunites with his frightened daughter. As the Chinese gangsters threaten Joon-pyeong for failing to deliver the uranium, In-chang sets the uranium’s timer to coincide with Mt. Paektu’s next eruption. When the volcano erupts again, causing more earthquakes, both the American soldiers and the gangsters flee the scene.
