Description: Max Fist claims to be a hero from another dimension who has lost his powers and ended up on Earth. No one believes his story except for a teenager named Hamster and his sister, Indigo. The siblings convince Max to help them take down a local drug gang, putting his abilities to a violent and grueling test.
The concept of a “superhero on the skids” gained popularity with Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ *Watchmen* comic in the mid-1980s. However, this trope has seen limited iterations in film. Examples include the 2008 movie *Hancock*, starring Will Smith as a drunken anti-Superman, and the character of Wolverine, who has faced numerous challenges across several films. In *Archenemy*, the protagonist, who once had extraordinary powers, now drinks in alleyways and laments his lost abilities. He insists on not being called a superhero, despite his past.
The film introduces Max Fist through an animated sequence where he narrates his backstory. Once a hero powered by “cosmic blood” in another dimension, Max was outmaneuvered and thrust into a slightly futuristic version of our world, where he is now a broken and unrecognized figure. Dubbed “Max Fist” by Hamster, a street kid aspiring to be an Internet influencer, Max angrily rejects any association with the term “superhero.”
Hamster’s older sister, Indigo, plays a key role in the story, as she and her brother persuade Max to confront the drug gang. Together, they navigate a world where Max’s once-great powers are a shadow of their former glory.
