Genre: Comedy;Horror
Description: Lycanthrope-lawman Lou Garou continues his crime-fighting duties as WolfCop, much to the frustration of Police Chief Tina Walsh. Entrepreneur Sydney Swallows invests in the town of Woodhaven, promising to boost the local economy with a new hockey stadium and brewery. Meanwhile, Willie Higgins reappears, convinced he was abducted and probed by aliens.
Comedian Joel Hodgson once remarked, “If you go straight for the obvious joke, there’s nowhere left to go.” He added, “Being blunt and direct is like pulling out a gun and shooting immediately.” The creators of the amateur horror-comedy *Another WolfCop* seem to have missed this crucial advice. This is unfortunate, as *Another WolfCop* is the sequel to a promising, albeit uneven, tribute to 1980s trash like *Cobra* and *Dead Heat*.
While the first *WolfCop* had some inventive qualities, this sequel relies too heavily on increasingly absurd plot twists. It feels as though the filmmakers haphazardly combined sensational tabloid stories into a contrived, easily digestible comedy filled with aliens, werewolves, stereotypes, and crude humor. Despite its attempt to be funny by cramming in wild elements, *Another WolfCop* fails to offer anything deeper than a series of poorly timed jokes and outdated ideas.
For those unfamiliar with the first film: small-town cop Lou Garou (Leo Fafard) is a disheveled drunk who also happens to be a werewolf. By day, he battles hangovers and occasionally tackles crime in Woodhaven, an inexplicably crime-ridden town, with the help of his amiable sidekick Willie Higgins (Jonathan Cherry) and the stern yet principled officer Tina (Amy Matysio).
