Description: Anna, a 2019 film, follows the story of Sasha Luss as Anna, a young Russian woman trapped in a life of domestic abuse. Desperate for escape, she accepts an offer from KGB officer Alex, played by Luke Evans. After a year of intense training, Anna agrees to serve as a KGB assassin for five years under the supervision of Olga, portrayed by Helen Mirren. However, the KGB’s leader, Vassiliev, refuses to honor the agreement, suggesting that death is the only way out of the organization.
Anna goes undercover as a fashion model in Paris, carrying out missions and assassinations. Her double life is eventually uncovered by the CIA, and she strikes a deal with them. In exchange for immediate retirement and protection in Hawaii, she becomes a double agent for the CIA, with Cillian Murphy’s character, Agent Miller, as her handler. Miller assigns her the task of assassinating Vassiliev, hoping it will ease tensions between the CIA and the KGB.
Anna successfully kills Vassiliev and escapes the KGB’s grasp. She later arranges a meeting with Alex and Miller, trading stolen information from both agencies for temporary safety. However, upon leaving the meeting, she is ambushed by Olga, who shoots her for betraying the KGB. It turns out both Olga and Anna conspired to deceive the CIA, faking Anna’s execution to secure her freedom.
In the end, Olga takes over Vassiliev’s position and watches a message from Anna, who expresses gratitude but admits to holding evidence of Olga’s involvement in Vassiliev’s murder as insurance. Olga, impressed by Anna’s cunning, deletes Anna’s file from the KGB database, ensuring her freedom.
