Description: Mike Howell is a laid-back stoner living in the quiet town of Liman, West Virginia, where he works as a convenience store clerk. While planning to propose to his longtime girlfriend, Phoebe Larson, during a trip to Hawaii, Mike is overcome by intense panic attacks whenever he attempts to leave town. Despite his struggles, Phoebe remains supportive, leaving Mike puzzled by her unwavering patience.
Meanwhile, in Langley, Virginia, CIA Agent Victoria Lasseter receives a coded warning about Mike’s impending elimination. Mike is the last surviving subject of her secretive “Wiseman” Ultra program, and her rival, Adrian Yates, intends to eliminate him along with his “Toughguy” operatives. Determined to protect him, Lasseter travels to Liman to activate Mike’s training using a series of code words. However, Mike fails to grasp their significance, leaving Lasseter frustrated.
Soon after, Mike is attacked by two Toughguys but instinctively defeats them using a spoon. Phoebe rushes to his side, and they narrowly escape another attack at the sheriff’s station. Seeking refuge at the home of Mike’s drug dealer, Rose, Mike becomes increasingly unsettled by his sudden knowledge of military tactics and the unsettling realization that he has little memory of his life before meeting Phoebe.
As Yates locks down the town and publicizes Mike and Lasseter’s identities, Lasseter enlists her former assistant, Petey Douglas, to deliver a weapon via drone. Yates, however, discovers the plan and threatens Petey with treason. In a final assault, Yates sends Toughguys armed with lethal gas to Rose’s home. Although Rose and his guards are killed, Mike and Phoebe manage to eliminate their attackers, with Phoebe saving Mike from the gas thanks to her familiarity with it. The couple fights to survive as they uncover the truth behind Mike’s forgotten past.
