**Storyline:**
Two years after the events of the previous film, Dave takes the Chipmunks and Chipettes on a cruise ship headed for the International Music Awards. However, their antics lead to trouble, prompting Dave to apologize to the ship’s captain and instruct the group to stay in their room. Ignoring the order, everyone except Theodore sneaks out to explore the casinos. Dave discovers his former boss, Ian Hawke, working as the ship’s safety monitor dressed as a pelican, warning him about the Chipmunks and Chipettes causing further disruptions.
The next day, Alvin decides to go parasailing but ends up being carried away by the kite along with the other Chipmunks. Dave tries to find them using a hang-glider but is stopped by Ian, and they both end up stranded in the Pacific Ocean. Meanwhile, the Chipmunks find themselves on an uninhabited island and spend the night there.
As the group adjusts to their new surroundings, they encounter a castaway named Zoe, who is surprised to see the Chipmunks for the first time. They take shelter in Zoe’s treehouse, but Eleanor sprains her ankle, and Simon gets bitten by a spider, which causes a dramatic personality shift. Simon begins to believe he is a daring, French chipmunk named Simone and develops feelings for Jeanette.
The following day, Zoe takes Simon(e), Jeanette, Eleanor, and Theodore to a waterfall, where Simon(e) discovers a cave and finds a gold bracelet, which he gifts to Jeanette. Later, Alvin and Brittany spot an active volcano and realize they must leave the island as soon as possible. Theodore and Simon(e) reunite with Dave and Ian, and the group begins building a raft to escape. However, during their efforts, Simon(e) is knocked unconscious, and Jeanette is kidnapped, causing Simon to revert to his original self.
