Description: In the year 2018, the movie “Alpha” offers viewers a captivating tale set in Upper Paleolithic Europe, approximately 20,000 years ago. The story revolves around a small tribe of hunter-gatherers preparing for a critical expedition to secure food for the upcoming winter.
Tau, the tribe’s chief, trains his teenage son Keda, allowing him and his friend Kappa to join the hunting party. Although Keda’s mother, Rho, expresses concern about her son’s readiness, Tau believes in him and leads the group into the wilderness.
During the journey, Tau tests Keda’s courage by tasking him with killing a wild boar. However, Keda hesitates, showcasing his inner conflict. One night, a dangerous cave lion attacks the group, taking Kappa’s life. The tribe mourns his loss, creating a cairn as a memorial to honor his spirit’s passage to the afterlife.
Later, the hunters encounter a herd of steppe bison, attempting to drive them off a cliff. Amid the chaos, a bull charges at Keda, sending him tumbling over the edge. Keda clings to the cliff but eventually falls onto a lower ledge, where he sustains injuries and loses consciousness. Tau tries to reach his son but is convinced by another hunter, Sigma, that Keda is beyond rescue. Heartbroken, Tau performs a funeral ritual before the tribe departs.
Keda regains consciousness to find a vulture circling him, mistaking him for dead. He kills the bird and attempts to descend the cliff. A sudden rainstorm causes a flood in the ravine below, forcing Keda to lose his grip and fall into the water. Miraculously, he survives, splints his injured leg, and ascends the cliff. Upon discovering the cairn left by his tribe, Keda realizes he must journey back to his village alone, facing the harsh challenges of the ancient wilderness.
