**Storyline:**
Jafar, the Royal Vizier of Agrabah, a fictional city near the Jordan River, along with his parrot Iago, searches for a magical lamp hidden in the Cave of Wonders. They learn that only one person, referred to as “the diamond in the rough,” is worthy of entering the cave. Jafar identifies this person as Aladdin, a street urchin from Agrabah. Meanwhile, Princess Jasmine, distressed by the law requiring her to marry a prince instead of someone she loves, escapes the palace. She encounters Aladdin and his pet monkey, Abu. Jafar orders the palace guards to capture Aladdin. When Jasmine demands Aladdin’s release, Jafar deceitfully claims that Aladdin has been executed.
Disguised as an old man, Jafar frees Aladdin and Abu and takes them to the Cave of Wonders, instructing them to retrieve the lamp. Aladdin is warned to touch nothing but the lamp. Inside the cave, he discovers a magic carpet and retrieves the lamp. However, Abu grabs a jewel, breaking the cave’s rule and causing it to collapse. Aladdin, Abu, and the carpet narrowly escape, but Jafar betrays them and throws them back into the cave. Abu manages to steal the lamp back before they are trapped. Rubbing the lamp, Aladdin releases the Genie, who grants him three wishes. Aladdin cleverly uses his first wish to become a prince to win Jasmine’s heart, promising to use his third wish to free the Genie.
Jafar, influenced by Iago, schemes to marry Jasmine and become Sultan. Aladdin, now posing as “Prince Ali Ababwa,” arrives in Agrabah with a grand entourage. However, Jasmine becomes upset when he discusses her future with her father, the Sultan, and Jafar without her consent.
