Description: Shyamal Sen, played by Tota Roychowdhury, is a sales general manager at an MNC, competing for the vice president position against Ranadip, also known as Runu Sanyal, portrayed by Saswata Chatterjee. Shyamal comes from a middle-class family in Sonarpur, where he grew up with his elder brother, played by Kaushik Ganguly. Now married to Charu, played by Joya Ahsan, Shyamal has always harbored jealousy toward his elder brother, believing he received more attention and was the more intelligent sibling. This resentment led him to burn his brother’s certificates in a moment of anger during childhood, a scene depicted in the film’s opening credits.
When Charu becomes pregnant, Shyamal convinces her to have an abortion, citing his upcoming training in London and the impact it could have on his career. Over time, Shyamal grows distant from his family as he strives for professional success, moving to an upscale apartment in Kolkata and leaving behind his ancestral home in Sonarpur. While they adapt to their new high-life in the city, Charu yearns for the simplicity of their life in Sonarpur.
The story intensifies when Runu Sanyal attempts to sign Hari Bose, played by Abir Chatterjee, as the company’s brand ambassador, while Shyamal works to secure a major deal. Both believe these accomplishments could secure them the vice president role. Meanwhile, Charu meets Hari Bose at a club, and he becomes attracted to her, leading to a date on her birthday. The competition takes a dark turn when Runu discovers that Shyamal had an affair with his assistant, Duli, played by Reshmi Ghosh, during a business trip, putting Shyamal in a precarious position. Unable to face the consequences, Shyamal flees to his ancestral home in Sonarpur, finding comfort in his brother’s supportive words.
