Description: Abhimaan (English: Self Respect) is a 2016 Indian Bengali-language action comedy film directed by Raj Chakraborty, featuring Jeet, Subhashree Ganguly, and Sayantika Banerjee in leading roles. The film was released in India on October 6, 2016, and in Bangladesh on December 30, 2016. It is a remake of the Telugu film Attarintiki Daredi (2013), which starred Pawan Kalyan, Samantha Akkineni, and Pranitha Subhash.
The story revolves around a wealthy Italian-Bengali businessman, Ashok Deb Burman (played by Sabyasachi Chakraborty), and his estranged daughter, Madhuja (Anjana Basu). Madhuja harbors deep resentment towards her father, who disowned her for marrying someone from a lower social class against his wishes. After twenty-five years, Ashok, now softened by age, wishes to reconcile with Madhuja. He seeks the help of his grandson, Aditya Deb Burman (Jeet), to mend their fractured relationship.
The plot follows Aditya as he leaves Italy and travels to Kolkata, where he enters his aunt’s household under the guise of a driver. Through a series of adventures and challenges, Aditya eventually succeeds in reconciling his grandfather with his aunt, bringing the family back together.
