Description: The film *ABCD: American-Born Confused Desi* follows the journey of two privileged young men, Aravind (Allu Sirish) and his cousin Bhasha (Master Bharath). Aravind, the son of a wealthy businessman (Nagendra Babu) based in New York, and Bhasha, whose mother moved to Paris with her new husband, are accustomed to a lavish lifestyle filled with luxury cars, parties, and indulgence. Their lives take a turn when Aravind’s father sends them to India under the guise of a vacation, only to cut off their access to money by blocking their credit cards. Forced to confront poverty in Andhra Pradesh, the duo eventually gains fame despite their struggles.
Upon arriving in India, Aravind and Bhasha attempt to stay at a hotel, only to discover their credit cards are blocked. They try to flee without paying but are caught by the hotel manager, who holds their visas until they settle the bill. Aravind’s father arranges for them to live in poor accommodations, prompting the pair to seek ways to earn money. Their initial attempt to trade fake bills ends in failure. To fulfill his father’s demand, Aravind enrolls in an MBA program at a local college, where he meets Neha (Rukshar Dhillon) and falls in love with her. Over time, Neha reciprocates his feelings.
In a bid to return to America, Aravind becomes a candidate for the Mr. Fame award, hoping to win the prize money of 500,000 rupees. To boost their popularity, Aravind and Bhasha join a protest, which escalates into a police lathi charge. While the event increases their fame, it also brings them into conflict with another Mr. Fame candidate, the son of a minister, who tries to disrupt the protest violently. Amid the chaos, Aravind gains a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by those living in poverty.
Ultimately, Aravind wins the Mr. Fame award but reveals his true motives during his acceptance speech. Instead of returning to America, he decides to stay in India to complete his education and embrace a new perspective on life.
