**Storyline:**
Vidhu (Johnny Baweja), an aspiring filmmaker, travels to Nainital with his girlfriend Koya (Reet Mazumder) and two other friends to create a film about her uncle Manav (Manav Kaul) and aunt, who claim they can communicate with their deceased daughter. The group installs cameras in the couple’s home to document paranormal activities, but instead, they uncover Manav’s questionable behavior. As secrets unfold, Koya becomes increasingly unsettled. What is her hidden connection to Manav?
On paper, this psychological thriller appears promising, keeping viewers guessing whether the characters are victims or individuals with ulterior motives. The mystery and backstory maintain intrigue. However, the film falters due to its loud, messy, and incoherent execution. Unnecessary elements like a forced love triangle, excessive kissing scenes, and steamy songs detract from the plot. The movie attempts to tackle too many issues at once: death, depression, incest, sex, and possession.
Weak writing and awkward dialogue often result in unintentional humor. For instance, a psychic explains possession by saying, “His ‘soul was weak,’ which is why this happened to him.” At one point, a character tells a girl, “I like your smell,” while the protagonist warns another man by saying, “Two men cannot share the same skirt.”
While Johnny Baweja shows potential, the lead actress is primarily used for her glamour, frequently appearing in revealing scenes. Manav Kaul overacts in his portrayal of a bizarre, suicidal, depressive character with a kinky side, making these scenes particularly cringe-worthy.
A line from the film sums it up well: “This house is full of lunatics.” As the actress explains, they all battle some form of “devil.” Additionally, the background score heavily borrows from the iconic theme of *The X-Files*.
