Description: “The 2010 film *A Nightmare on Elm Street* follows a group of friends haunted by a mysterious and terrifying figure in their dreams. The story begins at the Springwood Diner, where Dean Russell falls asleep and encounters a horrifying burned man wearing a bladed glove. After Dean is killed in his dream, his friends Kris Fowles and Nancy Holbrook witness his tragic death. At Dean’s funeral, Kris discovers a photo of her and Dean from childhood but has no memory of knowing him before high school.
Kris soon begins having nightmares about the same burned man, who threatens her life. Fearing sleep, she asks her ex-boyfriend, Jesse Braun, to stay with her. However, in her dream, the burned man kills Kris, leaving Jesse covered in her blood. Jesse flees to Nancy’s house, where he learns that Nancy has also been haunted by the same figure—Freddy Krueger. Jesse is later arrested but is killed by Krueger while asleep in his jail cell.
As the group’s connection unravels, Nancy and her boyfriend Quentin Smith investigate their shared past. They discover they attended the same preschool, where Freddy Krueger worked as a groundskeeper. Nancy’s mother, Gwen, reveals that Krueger was accused of molesting the children, with Nancy being his favorite victim. Gwen claims that after she reported Krueger, the parents tracked him down and burned him alive.
Doubtful of her mother’s story, Nancy seeks out the other children from the preschool but finds they have all been killed. Realizing she and Quentin are the only ones left, they must confront Krueger before he claims their lives as well. Meanwhile, Quentin experiences a flashback of the parents burning Krueger, adding to the growing horror.”
