Description: “A Letter to Momo” tells the story of a young girl named Momo Miyaura, who moves with her mother Ikuko to Shio Island in the Seto Inland Sea after the death of her father, Kazuo. Momo carries an unfinished letter from her father, addressed with only the words “Dear Momo.” Struggling with grief and feeling out of place, Momo is introduced to her relatives and Koichi, a postman and old friend of her mother.
In the attic of their new home, Momo discovers a rare book about goblins and yokai, collected by her relative Sachio’s father. Soon, three yokai—Kawa, Mame, and Iwa—manifest in the house, bringing chaos and confusion. As Momo tries to adjust, she befriends a boy named Yota and his sister Umi, while dealing with the mischievous yokai who disrupt the island.
When a sudden illness strikes Ikuko, Momo must confront her fears and seek help, ultimately learning valuable lessons about forgiveness, family, and the supernatural. The yokai, originally gods, face their own struggles and make unexpected choices to help Momo and her family. The film weaves a heartfelt tale of loss, healing, and the bonds that connect us across generations.
