**Storyline:**
An unnamed stranger arrives in the small border town of San Miguel, located between Mexico and the United States. Silvanito, the town’s innkeeper, informs the stranger of an ongoing feud between two powerful smuggling families competing for control of the town: the Rojo brothers (Don Miguel, Esteban, and Ramón) and the Baxter family, led by Sheriff John Baxter, his wife Consuelo, and their son Antonio.
Seizing an opportunity to profit, the stranger decides to manipulate both families against each other. He quickly demonstrates his unmatched skill with a gun by effortlessly taking down four men who had insulted him upon his arrival.
The stranger’s plan gains momentum when he witnesses the Rojos brutally massacre a group of Mexican soldiers transporting a chest of gold meant for a rifle exchange. Taking advantage of the situation, he retrieves two bodies from the scene and presents fabricated information to both families, claiming two soldiers survived the attack. This misinformation sparks a violent confrontation at a nearby cemetery, where Ramón seemingly kills the survivors and Esteban captures Antonio Baxter.
The stranger’s compassion emerges when he encounters Marisol, a woman caught in the crossfire of the feuding families. He learns from Silvanito that Ramón framed Marisol’s husband, Julio, during a card game and forced her into captivity. Determined to help, the stranger orchestrates Marisol’s escape during a Rojos celebration, shooting guards and creating chaos to make it appear as an attack by the Baxters. He provides Marisol with money and urges her to leave the town with her family.
