Description: “A Fish Called Wanda,” released in 1988, is a comedic crime film set in London. The story follows George Thomason, a gangster who orchestrates a jewel heist with his loyal but stuttering associate, Ken Pile, and two Americans: con artist Wanda Gershwitz and weapon expert Otto West. Wanda and Otto, who are secretly lovers, pose as siblings to manipulate George and Ken. After the successful heist, the gang hides the stolen diamonds in an old safe. However, Wanda and Otto betray George, leading to his arrest. When they return to retrieve the diamonds, they find the safe empty. Wanda discovers a key in Ken’s fish tank, which leads to a safe deposit box where George has moved the diamonds, and she hides it in her locket.
Wanda then schemes to seduce George’s lawyer, Archie Leach, to uncover the diamonds’ location. Archie, trapped in a joyless marriage, quickly falls for Wanda. Otto’s jealousy and interference create chaos, leading to disastrous consequences. Wanda accidentally leaves her locket at Archie’s house, and his wife, Wendy, mistakenly believes it’s a gift for her. To retrieve the locket, Archie stages a fake robbery at his home, but Otto interrupts, mistaking Archie for a burglar. After returning the locket to Wanda, Archie ends their affair. Meanwhile, Wendy discovers Archie’s infidelity, leading to further complications.”
