Description: In the opening scene, Lucy tricks Charlie Brown into attempting to kick a football, calling it a Thanksgiving tradition. As always, she pulls it away, mentioning that some traditions fade over time. The Browns are preparing to visit their grandmother for Thanksgiving dinner when Charlie Brown receives a call from Peppermint Patty. She is alone for the holiday and asks to join him for dinner. Soon, Marcie and Franklin are also invited, leaving Charlie Brown uncertain about how to manage the unexpected gathering. Linus suggests hosting two dinners: one for the group and another for his family at his grandparents’ home. Charlie Brown admits his cooking skills are limited to cold cereal and toast, so Linus enlists Snoopy and Woodstock to help. Together, they prepare a unique feast featuring toast with margarine, pan-fried popcorn, pretzel sticks, and jelly beans. Snoopy goes a step further by setting up a ping pong table and dressing himself and Woodstock in Pilgrim attire, though Charlie Brown disapproves of the latter.
When the guests arrive, Linus leads a prayer recounting the First Thanksgiving in 1621, and Snoopy serves the meal. Peppermint Patty is initially shocked by the unconventional dishes and lashes out at the hosts, causing Charlie Brown to leave the table. Patty eventually realizes her mistake and apologizes to Charlie Brown, admitting she had invited herself and the others. After resolving the conflict, Charlie Brown remembers he and Sally need to head to their grandmother’s house for the second Thanksgiving meal and explains the situation to her.
