This premise, though widely used in cinema, feels unrealistic, as I’ve never encountered anyone who actually made such a drastic move. However, in this film, the choice eventually becomes justified. The story follows Jim (played by John Littlefield, known for *Hulk* and *Black Limousine*), who relocates to Auburn, California, with his two teenage daughters, Staci (Alyson Gorske from *Battle Star Wars* and *Meteor Moon*) and Randy (Jessica Chancellor of *Mystery Incorporated* and *The Final Level: Escaping Rancala*), after losing his wife.
In this gated rural community, local real estate agent Austyn (Jasmine Waltz, seen in *Black Water* and *Cheerleader Massacre 2*) quickly seizes the chance to sell the mansion at the titular address, 616 Wilford Lane. The property, significantly undervalued, raises suspicions about its troubled history. A title card reveals that the actual “Number of the Beast” is 616, hinting at sinister forces at play. Security camera footage evokes memories of horror classics like *Amityville 2: The Possession* and *The Amityville Murders*, further confirming the house’s cursed nature.
Despite warning signs, such as birds colliding with the windows during their move and their neighbor David (played by Eric Roberts from *The Cove* and *Ape vs. Monster*), Jim’s family ignores the red flags, driven by the allure of a bargain. Like many families in similar cinematic tales, they ultimately face the terrifying consequences of their decision.
