**Storyline:**
On April 30, 1980, six Iranian Arabs stormed the Iranian Embassy in London, taking at least 26 hostages. The incident drew in key figures, including SAS members led by Lance Corporal Rusty Firmin, BBC reporter Kate Adie, and Chief Inspector Max Vernon of the Metropolitan Police. The terrorists’ leader, Salim, contacted the authorities, demanding the release of 91 Arab prisoners in Iran and threatening to kill a hostage if his demands weren’t met by noon the next day.
On the second day, Max negotiated with Salim over the phone, pledging to help avoid violence. The SAS team prepared to storm the building just before the deadline, but Salim released one hostage due to illness. After Max provided food to the terrorists, Salim reluctantly agreed to extend the deadline by 48 hours, requesting safe passage to Heathrow Airport accompanied by Arab League ambassadors.
Over the third and fourth days, Salim repeatedly demanded to speak with the ambassadors. His right-hand man, Faisal, took a hostage to execute, but the Iranian authorities refused to engage in negotiations. Salim insisted on speaking to the BBC, and Max reluctantly arranged this. Following the broadcast, Salim released another hostage. Meanwhile, the SAS team devised a plan to rescue the hostages during their bus transfer to the airport. However, the Prime Minister rejected the plan, firmly stating that the government would not comply with the terrorists’ demands, even superficially. The SAS returned to their original plan of storming the building.
On the fifth day, the BBC World Service aired the terrorists’ statement, citing their actions as a response to the oppression of Arabistan by the Iranian government. Upon hearing the broadcast, Salim thanked Max and released two more hostages.
The film “6 Days” vividly portrays the tense standoff and the high-stakes efforts to resolve the crisis.
