**Plot Summary:**
In South Africa, a convoy of Interpol agents, led by Lin (Xu Qing), is transporting a prisoner named Keith. During a checkpoint stop, they are ambushed, resulting in the deaths of most agents. Lin manages to escape with Keith.
Meanwhile, Travis Conrad (Ethan Hawke), a retired hitman, spends time with his father-in-law, Frank (Rutger Hauer). They scatter ashes in the ocean, commemorating the one-year anniversary of a tragic loss. After Frank falls asleep, Travis visits a bar to obtain cocaine. There, he is confronted by two thugs who inform him that Jim, his former associate, wants to meet him. Jim offers Travis $1 million per day to rectify a failed assassination attempt on Keith and Lin.
Despite initially refusing, citing his retirement, Travis is swayed by the lucrative offer. He travels to Hong Kong, locates Lin’s son, steals his cell phone, and determines Lin’s whereabouts. At the airport, he seduces Lin. The next morning, he retrieves Keith’s location from her phone but decides not to kill her. Lin, realizing Travis is an agent, kills him instead.
Travis’s agency, Red Mountain, revives him using an experimental procedure. Upon regaining consciousness, Travis provides Keith’s location. Jim, his former Marine comrade, reveals that Travis was revived solely to extract the information and plans to terminate him once the doctor returns. Travis grabs a scalpel, frees himself, and confronts the doctor, who informs him that a timer on his wrist gives him only 24 hours to live.
Travis escapes, taking the doctor hostage, and pursues Lin, warning her not to make him regret sparing her life. Meanwhile, Keith testifies against Red Mountain, exposing their unethical experiments on over 70 civilians to develop the resurrection procedure and forcing him to dispose of the bodies. As Keith testifies, Jim snipes several guards from a clocktower, and Red Mountain launches an assault on the building. Lin and Keith escape with Travis’s help, as he seeks revenge against Red Mountain for their betrayal.
