Description: **2010: The Year We Make Contact (1984) – Full Movie in English 480p and 720p**
**Storyline:**
Nine years after the mysterious failure of the Discovery One mission to Jupiter in 2001, which led to the deaths of four crew members and the disappearance of mission commander David Bowman, Dr. Heywood Floyd, blamed for the disaster, steps down as head of the National Council for Astronautics. Amid growing tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union, both nations prepare separate space missions to uncover the truth behind the Discovery incident.
The Soviet spacecraft Leonov, named after cosmonaut Alexei Leonov, is set to launch earlier than the American Discovery Two. However, the Soviets require American expertise to board the Discovery and investigate the malfunction of its sentient computer, HAL 9000, which caused the catastrophe. The U.S. government agrees to a joint mission when it becomes clear that Discovery will crash into Jupiter’s moon Io before Discovery Two is ready. Floyd, along with Discovery designer Walter Curnow and HAL’s creator, Dr. Chandra, join the Soviet crew.
Upon reaching Jupiter, the crew detects signs of life on Europa, one of Jupiter’s moons. They send an unmanned probe to investigate but lose it to a mysterious energy burst. Floyd suspects the burst was a warning to stay away from Europa, while the Soviets dismiss it as electrostatic build-up.
After a perilous braking maneuver in Jupiter’s upper atmosphere, the Leonov crew locates the abandoned Discovery orbiting Io. Curnow reactivates the ship, and Chandra reboots HAL, which had been deactivated by Bowman before his disappearance. Nearby, the massive alien Monolith—the original focus of the Discovery mission—remains. Cosmonaut Max Brailovsky approaches the Monolith in an EVA pod, triggering another energy burst that sends his pod spinning into space.
On Earth, Bowman, now an incorporeal being within the Monolith, appears on his wife’s television screen to bid her farewell and visits his terminally ill mother moments before her death. The mission uncovers profound and unsettling truths about the universe, leaving the crew and humanity with more questions than answers.
