Description: In 1945, British police in Burma receive news of a supposed plane crash resulting in the presumed death of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. They plan to dismantle the Indian National Army (INA), which Netaji had established. Simultaneously, the INA strategizes a rebellion to overthrow British rule, with Burma as their central base. However, internal conflicts arise among INA members following Netaji’s supposed death, with some questioning whether he is truly gone. Adhi, a dedicated INA member, insists that Netaji is still alive, but his claims are dismissed by his peers. Feeling disheartened, Adhi reflects on his journey and what inspired him to join the INA.
In 1942, Adhi was a young lawyer who moved from India to Burma to work under Subbayya, a prominent lawyer and British ally. During this time, Adhi falls in love with Subbayya’s daughter, Anandhi, and the two plan to marry. However, Adhi becomes aware of the brutal oppression faced by Indians in Burma at the hands of corrupt British officers who exploit and kill innocent people.
Inspired by the ideals of Netaji and the INA, Adhi joins their ranks, taking up arms to fight against British tyranny. His involvement in the INA causes Subbayya to disapprove of his marriage to Anandhi, but the couple’s love remains strong. With the help of a friend, Adhi convinces Subbayya to allow the wedding, and he and Anandhi marry. However, their lives are soon disrupted by violent clashes between Indians and British forces, resulting in the tragic death of Adhi’s friend and the continued struggle for freedom.
