Description: In 1987, Jenna Rink, a shy and awkward teenager, dreams of being popular. She convinces the popular clique, the “Six Chicks,” to attend her 13th birthday party by doing their homework. Her best friend, Matt Flamhaff, who has feelings for her, gives her a handmade pink dollhouse and sprinkles it with “magic wishing dust.” During the party, the Six Chicks trick Jenna into playing a game, leaving her humiliated and alone. Heartbroken, Jenna wishes to be “30, flirty, and thriving.” The next morning, she wakes up in 2004 as a 30-year-old woman, living a glamorous life in New York City but with no memory of the past 17 years.
Jenna discovers she’s now a successful editor at her favorite fashion magazine, *Poise*, working alongside her best friend, Lucy Wyman. However, *Poise* is struggling to compete with a rival magazine, *Sparkle*. Jenna reaches out to Matt, who is now a struggling photographer, but he’s distant, as she had cut ties with him after becoming popular. Lucy, who was once the leader of the Six Chicks, has undergone plastic surgery.
As Jenna navigates her new life, she begins to question her choices and reconnects with her younger self through spending time with teenagers. She brings life to a dull *Poise* party by leading a spontaneous “Thriller” dance, rekindling her connection with Matt, who is now engaged to someone else. Jenna must confront her past and decide what truly matters in her life.
